มาริษา ศรีจันแปลง (เกิดปี 2536 , สุรินทร์ , ประเทศไทย)
Marisa Srijanpleang (b. 1993, Surin, Thailand)
" I am an artist from Surin, Thailand, where I grew up near the Thai–Cambodian border. Living in this border region has shaped my interest in histories that are not found in official records, but remain through traces in landscapes, living things, objects, and the oral stories of people.
My practice begins with field research, conversations with people, collecting oral histories, and observing the environment. I transform these experiences into photography, sculpture, video, and installation. Currently, I am interested in working with borders, the legacies of war and conflict that shape personal memories, and how history continues to exist and be passed on through everyday life.
My work explores the relationships between history, memory, and changing landscapes through everyday elements such as local plants, language, rituals, local knowledge, and the ways people relate to objects, nature, and each other. I am interested in how memories move and are passed on through people, living beings, and landscapes, like the journey of seeds. Through these processes, history is understood as something that continues to move, transform, and remain present through traces within everyday life. "
